Deborah "Ivory affair"

Good morning! How's your week-end going? :) I should be studying right now, instead I'm listening to Queen's greatest hits and surfing the net >.<
Anyway, yesterday I bought other two Deborah polishes, and I'm showing you one them today.
It's called Ivory affair, and I think it's the perfect name for such a tender colour :) It's a really light pink, almost white, very delicate and elegant, just how I like it!
I know that this polish would make a great base for some nail art/stamping, but I think I'll keep it clean because I really like it this way :)
The application of these polishes is always good, but this time I used three coats, even if it was already opaque after two. I also applied a top coat.

deBBy "112"

Good morning! Today a short post to show you another lovely polish :) This one is from deBBy colorPLAY and it's number 112 (stupid no-name polishes >.<). While I was putting it on I was wishing that my poor camera could capture the beauty of all those duochrome glitters (purple and gold) but, as usually, it didn't :'(.
So, I leave you with some picture, and I wish you a marvellous day :)
(two coats + top coat; application was really nice!)

Metallic blue + "glisten up!"

Just a short post today to show you another cheap polish I got in a local store. I took these pictures some days ago.
The colour is a nice metallic blue (the other one I got from this brand is a bit darker than this) with a nice formula, so the application was easy enough :) Instead of putting a transparent tc, I used Essence "glisten up!", but I'm not so sure if I really like the result :/ I think this polish looks way better on darker polishes.
Well, this is it! Now I have to go back studying (yes, my exams are closer and closer and I'm absolutely not ready for them!!)...have a nice day!

I've been tagged :)

Thanks to Lacquer Addicts Anonymous for tagging me :) I really enjoy doing this kind of
things!
Birthday: 17th of March
Sign: Pisces!
Hair colour: Ehm, I think it's kind of light brown? O.o''
Eye colour: Blue
Unique features: Actually, I think my only unique feature is my eyes colour, at least here in Italy, because I'm half German, and so some phisical features are more Nordic and unusual for my country, like my blue eyes :)
Favourite colour: I don't really have a favourite colour right now...I really like pastel shades, like pink, light blue, etc. but at the moment I'm really into blue, yellow and green too!
Favourite animal: I've always been a cat&dog lover <3
Favourite dish: Oh no, please, don't let me choose only one!! I can't really tell you...I love to try almost everything (except for strange dishes like frog legs or escargot >.<) from Chinese kitchen to the Greek one...and don't forget that I live in a place where food is almost sacred XD
Favourite song: Another difficult question...hmm...right now I listen again and again to these songs:
- Dog days are over (Florence and the machine)
- Rolling in the deep (Adele)
- Little by little, Lyla, The importance of being idle, Don't look back in anger, Wonderwall (Oasis)
Hobbies: Obviously painting my nails :P but I also read a lot and once I used to write poetry (how I miss that...).
Skills: Skills? Really? XD Ok, probably I'm good at something...maybe learning languages (thanks to the fact that I was born bilingual)...at least I hope, because it's what I study at University!
I'm a fan of: Shopping first! then photography, nail polishes aaaaaaaand books :)
I dislike: Hypocrisy, studying and being broke.
Best experience: I don't know...I've had so many wonderful experiences that I can't tell you only one...it's impossible!

Now I'm supposed  to tag some other girls right? So...here are my choices:

Deborah "Knock out violet"

All I have to say about this polish is: OMG.
I actually didn't want to buy any new nail polish today, but when I got in front of the perfumery, there was a big sales notice, so I couldn't just pass by! Aaaaaand, I got home with two new babies (yes, I've been a good girl, I didn't buy the whole shop :P). The one I'm talking about right now is called "Knock out violet" and it's from the pret à porter collection by Deborah.
Well, I could describe the colour as a dark violet with a lot of tiny glitters in it, but in the bottle it also looks a bit duochrome (sadly not on the nails). It's a kind of jelly formula, very nice to apply, and I was very happy with my usual two coats :3 I also put a tc, but it wasn't really necessary.
I'm so upset that you won't see how gorgeous this polish is, because of my crappy pictures...but, if some of you have the possibility to get this polish, well...buy it and you'll see!!!
P.S. I wanted short nails again...so, here they are :P

GOTbeauty + Essence "Carrie"

So, I decided to try the pearl polish as first...the application wasn't that bad, but it takes a while to dry completely. I used three coats, and the result is really nice :) It's a very pleasant and soft colour, nothing special, but I like it. Sadly, the colour itself becomes quite boring after a while, so I decided to do something with it: first I wanted to do some stamping, but I couldn't find the right picture, so, in the end, I chose Essence "Carrie" as top coat. Yeah, it definetly works better!

Cheap = bad?

I'm doing a kind of experiment: I'm buying different cheap polishes in drugstores, to see how different their quality is from all those "expensive" polishes we usually buy. Well, maybe you'll be the best judges for this, because I usually don't buy that kind of polishes...I just can't afford it. But my personal experience tought me that you often get good quality even if you payed less than 2€. So, we'll see if this is the case too :) These are three polishes I bought at a local store yesterday (for my italian followers: Acqua&sapone) for 1.80€ the first two and 2.95€ the third. I've never tried these brands before, but the colours look very nice in their bottles:
- the first is a red shade with golden glitters in it;
- the second is a kind of blue/grey metallic/suede shade (I can't really describe it);
- the third is a white pearl shade.
I'm pretty curious to try them out :) Maybe I'll post the first swatch this afternoon...
Meanwhile, have a nice day!

Layering with Essence "Choose me!"

Aaaaaaand some extra-layering with Essence "Choose me!". I think it looks pretty good, don't you? :) Oh, and yes, as you can see I did some stamping on my middle finger, but then I covered everything by layering...I hoped that the polish was a little more sheer so that you could still see the stamps, but it wasn't :P

Essence "Chuck"

So, today another Essence polish *surprise*!! It's a nice blue shade, which looks pretty different indoors and outdoors (you'll see :P). It's called Chuck, and it's from the nail art twins collection, but I didn't buy it's twin. Also this time I wasn't really happy with the brush, but it was a bit better than the last one (take a look to my previous post if you don't know what I'm talking about). The colour is super pigmented, so, if you are thick-coat-lovers, one coat will be absolutely sufficient to reach a good opacity :) I did obviously two (only because I'm never happy with only one coat on my nails!), and in these pictures there's no tc, because the colour itself is very very shiny (thing I love about this polish), but I'll put it on as soon as it will be completely dry. And I think I'll do some pretty stamps on my nails, because I've finally bought the stampy set *yeahyyy* XD
So, stop talking, here are some pictures for you:

Essence "replay"

Yesterday I decided to shorten my nails a bit, and so I did. I like having long nails, but they're quite uncomfortable when you work a lot with your hands :/ Then I choose a colour which I thought could be perfect to wear on short nails, and I'm talking about Replay, by Essence. It's a kind of peppermint/mint green colour, very suitable for spring :) This colour isn't from the colour&go collection, and I must say that I really hate the brush from the multi dimension collection >.< The application this time was a nightmare...it was so hard not to make a mess of it! But the colour is really pretty, so I have to forgive Essence for making such an horrible brush...:P
In the end, I added a coat of Kiko's 229 on my middle finger, just to give a touch of sparkle to the end result :) Do you like it?

Essence "where is the party?"

This is my first duochrome polish, and it's obviously from Essence :P I really like this brand, because you can buy very cheap nail polish (1.29€ or 1.99€) with great quality. And this was no exception! The colour is so pretty, and you can see different shades of purple and green in it :) I had to make another short video to show you the duochrome, because my camera has always problems with capturing these lovely effects >.<.
The brush of Essence polishes is so amazing, it's a flat one, so you can apply your varnish without problems :) I would like to do some little nail art on this polish but I still don't know what :P So, I leave you with some pictures and the video...have a nice day!
(two coats, no top coat)

Essence "dress for a moment" and "you belong to me"

I wanted to try both these polishes so bad that in the end I decided to do this mani! And I love it! Maybe in this picture you can't see how beautiful these two colours are together, but in reality they're amazing :) I didn't even take a picture of my thumb (sorry) where I added a silver/sparkle line with the essence tip painter (I think it's called so :/)...too bad...anyway, I'm super happy with the result, and I think I'm going to keep this mani for at least another couple of days :) Do you like it?

Essence "dress for a moment"

I think I found my favourite polish *_* This lilac one by essence is so amazing, believe me! While I was putting on the first coat I was thinking "Whooooaa!" XD Probably because I am a lilac-lover, but the one I owned before was a bit too dark for my taste, while this is sooo pale and delicate <3 Yes, I love it. ;P
About the application, I have not much to say...like all the colour&go polishes, it was fine, two coats where enough and the polish looks amazing also without any top coat. Just a dream :)

Something new (again)

I think this week I bought too many polishes :/ I promised myself (and my boyfriend XD) that I won't buy any polish for a week (at least), because I feel soooo guilty! Anyway, these are the last ones I got yesterday (from left to right):
- You belong to me
- Dress for a moment
- Where is the party?
- Hello holo
All these are from Essence.
And a polish I bought in a new store that recently opened in my town, which has no name (I guess).
With this picture I also wanted to try the lightbox I build myself (thanks to some instructions I found on the internet) :) Like it!

Kiko "247" and Essence "Troy"

So, finally, here it is! I first want to say that this polish is soooo hard to capture with a digital camera like mine, so I had to make a short video to show you the real beauty of it. In the sun it looks like I've got colorful diamonds on my nails *_* I'm completely in love! I'm talking about number 247 by Kiko, an amazing pink/mauve colour with a great amount of "holo" glitters in it (are they really holo?). The application was good, I used three coats because this varnish is pretty sheer, but in the end (with a top coat) it looks faboulous! On my ring finger I used Troy by essence, another beautiful glitter-polish. For this I needed four coats to cover my nail completely, and I love it!! Yes, I LOVE glitter :D So, here are some pictures and a short video:
So, what do you think? :)

New entries

It was not my intention to buy some more polishes, but when I saw the new essence products in front of me I simply couldn't resist! These little beauties came home with me, but on monday I'll go back there because I want to buy another topper (Hello holo) I saw there :3 So, these are (from left to right): Replay, Circus confetti and Troy. The second one is very similar to Deborah Lippmann's Happy birthday, and I can't wait to try it out! Meanwhile, I've done a new mani, and I used Troy for one nail...later you'll see ;)
That's all for the moment...see you later!

Ooops I did it again

I should have probably published this post before yesterday's one, but who cares XD These are my last purchases, and in the middle you can see the Kiko polish I was talking about in my last post (it is number 247)...I can't wait to try it! But I think that I'll keep my yellow mani for today...:)
Meanwhile, have a nice weekend!!!

The perfect sparkle touch

I'm a girl who gives second chances, and so I decided that also my yellow nails should have their own. And then I found a Kiko store in the city where I study, and it was love at first sight! I took home with me two amazing polishes, and one of them was the perfect final touch for my nails :D And so, here where are again, but this time I'm in love with my mani! Thanks to number 229 (I hate when polishes don't have names >.<) now on my nails there is a lovely greenish sparkle touch that goes perfectly with the yellow base :3 Soooo happy! And I'll obviously make some more shopping in that Kiko store!
One last thing: the other polish I bought has little holo glitters in it! Curious? :)

Essence "You've got the art"

Today a polish from the Whoom Boooom collection by essence: You've got the art. I wanted to try this colour even if I'm not a yellow-lover, but I think that this shade isn't made for me...It's a pale yellow polish with a touch of green, while I was looking for a simply pale yellow colour. Well, I'll find it XD
Anyway, the application was quite good, like almost all the essence polishes, and two coats were enough to reach a good opacity :) In these pictures I didn't put any top coat, so you can see that's a nice shiny varnish!

Sinful colors "Forget now"

What a marvellous morning! I woke up in a really good mood today :) Yesterday the lovely Dolores (http://colorfulbottle.blogspot.com) published my post for her project Guest nails (if you're interested, take a look here), and I'm sooooo happy! Don't know what I'm talking about? Then click here and you'll understand ;)
Oh, and I also had to go to the dentist yesterday :/ But it went well, and now I'm completely relaxed (except for all the things I have to study for the upcoming exams >.<) :)
So, how to start this day? With a new post, of course!
I did a really simple manicure (I suggest you to take a look at the post on Colorful bottle's blog if you want to see the original base colour!) with Forget now (Sinful Colors) as base. Then I decided to start with my middle finger and make a little nail art:
As you can see, half of the nail is matte, and then I draw a line with a tip painter from Essence. The result was really nice, so I did the same on my thumb. But then, in the evening, while I had nothing to do, I decided to complete the work giving all the other nails a matte finish, and here's what came out:
I don't know, maybe it looked better without the matte finish, but hey, it was an experiment! :P One thing's for sure: this colour is so amazing that you could do everything with it without ruin it! LOVE IT!
