Haul + Kiko n.255

I'm a bit in a hurry because I have to catch the train. So, just a few words to introduce this post:
yesterday I did some shopping, so here's my little haul :D From left to right: Kiko n.385 - 303 - 255; Catrice "Sold out for ever" - "Genius in the bottle".
Then I decided to paint my nails with one of these, and I chose Kiko n.255, a gorgeous dark purple filled with teeny tiny holo glitters *_* Sadly I didn't take pictures in the sun because it was already late, but you can trust me if I say that this is truly beautiful! I used two easy coats + top coat.

Metallic Jupiter

Good morning! I hope you're all having a beautiful Sunday :) Mine started quite well, and in the afternoon I'm going to my bff's house because she's having a little party for her 21st birthday...she's baking lots of muffins for us and I can't wait to eat them because I know they'll taste amazing! :D

Anyway, talking about nail polish...today I have another gem to show you: "Metallic Jupiter" from W7.
If you're curious where I got this and the other ones, check out my review about NailPolishDirect.uk here: CLICK!
I had to take some bottle pics because this polish looks sooooo amazing in the bottle! But sadly this gorgeous multichrome effect doesn't completely translate on the nails :(
The base colour is a really dark one, I would almost say it's black, and it's packed with a huge amount of tiny glitters (or maybe glass-flecks?) that on the nail change from a magenta/purple to a blue colour. I wish the gold reflections would show up too, but nope, they don't.
Anyway, I'm so happy to own this, and I would also recommend it to those of you who still haven't bought these W7 Metallic polishes: they're cheap and they're gorgeous :)
If you're interested in seeing "Metallic Mercury" swatched, here it is: click! and I'm planning to take pictures of "Metallic Neptune" too soon, so stay tuned if you're curious!
Oh, I'm trying to let my nails grow a bit, but I still don't know how this experiment is going to end...you know, I'm a great fan of nubbins, but sometimes I just wish I had beautiful long nails like some other nail bloggers.

BasicBeauty n.11

I'm not sure if I like this polish or not. I bought it a couple of days ago for 3,99€ (pretty fair price for 10ml) and it's my first BasicBeauty nail polish. I've seen some swatches of these polishes on different blogs before, but I fell in love with them when I saw Roberta's pictures *ç*
Sadly, I didn't find the colours she got in the store, so I chose this one, thinking that it looked so pretty in the bottle. It is pretty, in fact: it's a light blue with a even lighter shimmer in it, very noticeable in the bottle but it actually translates pretty good on the nails too.
What you see on these pictures is the result of three coats, but it didn't bother me because the polish dries pretty fast. So, while I'm deciding if I do like this polish or not, I'm definelty going to get some more of these :)

Gold foil

For today I have a very unusual colour to show you (and with unusual I mean for what I usually wear), andthat's why I decided to take also some particular pictures.
The polish you see on these pictures is n.800 by Pupa, and it's a beautiful gold foil, super pigmented.
I simply love to wear this colour on my nails, and that's kinda surprising because I'm not really into foil polishes. But I guess everyone can change his mind, right? :)
Anyway, I thought this polish was just too sophisticated to take my usual bottle-pictures, so I decided to hold two of my favourite bottles of perfume instead! I love the result, and do you?

For my italian readers:
Se già non lo sapevate, Pupa ha lanciato una stupenda iniziativa per i loro 100 000 iscritti su Facebook: se cliccate su "mi piace" sulla loro pagina Facebook (qui) troverete le istruzioni per ritirare gratuitamente uno smalto a vostro piacimento dalla profumeria a voi più vicina. Questa iniziativa si chiama "1 fan 1 smalto". Non lasciatevela sfuggire!

Monday's wishes

When I saw "Knackered" for the first time my reaction was not that enthousiastic. Okay, it's a duochrome AND a holo polish, but it's sheer, and sheer polishes are not my cup of tea. But then I saw different swatches of it, and especially when I run into Amy's blog post about it (this one) I completely changed my mind. I started to love it. And now I really want it so bad!
But before I'll be able to get "Knackered", I'm constantly looking for something similar. No, I still haven't found anything like it, but I got a polish that is equally sheer and has tiny glitters (sadly not holographic) in an almost duochrome base, and I've already shown it to you some days ago, but layered on another polish.
So today I want to show you some pictures of this pretty polish on its own.
I must warn you: this shade doesn't really suit my skin tone that good, but I can't help it, I've fallen in love. It's probably because of my current desire for the Butter London polish that I'm that into this itstyle polish, but that's ok. So, here are the pictures of n.14 by itstyle, three coats shown.

Purple zebra

Here I am again, sorry for the absence >.<
Today I show you a mani I'm really loving, and I hope you'll like it too :)
As base colour I used two coats of the amazing n.293 from Kiko, a true purple polish which already looks gorgeous on its own, but I decided to stamp on it anyway. I used the zebra print from my little Essence stamping plate (actually the only one I own ç__ç) and I used a local drugstore polish, which, let me say, is stunning for stamping!  I love love love the result, and I think it's kinda delicate because I didn't use a super light colour for stamping. Sooo pretty *ç*
Well, now I have to go, hope you're having a nice Saturday! See you soon ;)

I'm so glad You belong to me

I don't know why I haven't posted pictures of this beauty yet. I re-discovered this polish after month it was sitting in my stash, and I'm wondering how I didn't give him the deserved attention.
It "You belong to me" (Essence) I'm talking about, a gorgeous minty cream from the colour&go line.
With spring approaching, I really feel the need to wear more pastel polishes, and I think this is one of the most beautiful I own right now. My bottle is a bit old, so the polish was a bit thick but not impossible to apply, I used two coats for these pictures. I'll definetly go and get a backup bottle today!
Question time: Do you know any other similar polishes out there? Possibly from brands I can find here in Europe, thanks :D

Pretty polish and...

When I woke up this morning it was snowing again, what an amazing sight :) Sadly, it doesn't snow so much anymore, but the roofs and the streets are all white.
Anyway, for today I prepared a pretty layering for you guys :) I got some new polishes from this italian brand called itstyle, who's a sort of Kiko, just smaller, but I really like their products.
And, guess what? I got some stuff for you too, so expect a little giveaway soon (it's almost the first anniversary of Like a candy shop!!) :D
Well, the mani I'm showing you has Kiko's n.338 as base colour and n.14 from itstyle (no names, what a shame!) on top of it.
N.14 is a bit sheer, so I used it layered over another colour, but it builds up in two or three coats, so it can be also used alone.
I actually don't know how to describe it...the base colour has a pearly finish and it almost looks like a duochrome, it's a mix of a light lavender and a light purple, and it's packed with a lot of tiny silver glitters. So pretty!
On these pictures you don't really see how beautiful this polish is, but you have to trust my words :P

Got a secret

Sorry for my short absence, but when I get home after hours spent at University I'm not really in the mood for posting. But I always paint my nails, as soon as I have a bit of time :)
Sadly in these days I was completely uninspired, and everytime I painted my nails I didn't like the result and changed polish. But I think I'm over it now, so hopefully there are going to be more posts on my blog.
Anyway, I have for you a really pretty polish today, it's "Got a Secret" from the colour&go line by Essence. You have already seen this polish in this post, but I've never shown it on its own.
It's a very light grey creme, pretty elegant and decent, and you've probably noticed that I'm kinda into this kind of polishes lately...I actually wanted to stamp something over it, but I haven't got the time :(
The formula of this one was good too: I used two coats and it looked smooth and perfect. I'm happy about it, another great job by Essence :D

O.P.I. vs Deborah

As soon as I found the new Deborah Pret à porter polishes, I bought two of them. They looked all so amazing that it was definetly hard to choose just two, but I'm sure I'll go back and buy some more in the next future :)
So, I got home with a baby blue ("Fly High") and a coral pink ("Blooming Delight") because I'm already in a spring mood, and I just can't have enough of pastel creme polishes.
But when I arrived home I remembered that I already had a similar baby blue polish, "What's with the cattitude?" by O.P.I. I was so curious to see if they were dupes that I took some comparison pictures and this is the result:
they are not. But they are very close. The only differences I noticed were that the O.P.I. polish is slightly more greenish than the Deborah one, and it's also a bit dustier. But I guess that for "normal" people they're pretty much identical :D
I would say that if you don't own "What's with the cattitude?", "Fly high" will be a great alternative. There's no need to have both of them.
