L'Oréal Rouge Caresse lipsticks review

Today I want to talk about something a bit different from usual...

you know, I'm not a big make-up junkie, but there are a few products that I love to use in my daily routine, and these are: my Garnier BB cream (not always), mascara, blush and lip products.

Talking about lip products, I have a small collection of lipsticks and a couple of lipglosses, but I think they can be difficult to wear during the day time, so I was looking for something a bit less pigmented but still noticeable. 

You've all probably heard of the Revlon lip butters (don't lie, you know you want them too!!)...I wanted some of them so badly, but then I heard how much their price is here in Italy and I changed my mind (about 13€, while in the US they're just about $7!). 

But then I came across the l'Oréal Rouge Caresse lip sticks....and it was love at first sight!

I noticed that their consistency was pretty similar to the Revlon lip butters: they're very moisturizing and a bit less pigmented than a usual lipstick. So I decided to get a couple of them: n.06 Aphrodite Scarlet and n.04 Rose Madmoiselle.

Oggi voglio parlarvi di qualcosa di un po' diverso dal solito...

premessa: non sono una grande intenditrice di makeup (però mi piace parecchio!), ma nella mia routine utilizzo alcuni prodotti base che di solito non mancano mai: la mia Garnier BB cream, mascara, blush e prodotti per labbra.

Riguardo questi ultimi, negli anni ho collezionato diversi rossetti e qualche lipgloss, ma trovo che di giorno siano un po' difficili da portare, specialmente quando sono in giro per l'università, e così cercavo qualcosa di più portabile ma pur sempre visibile sulle labbra.

Penso che il prodotto che rispecchi perfettamente la descrizione siano i Revlon lip butter, che tutti ormai probabilmente conoscerete, ma quando ho scoperto quanto costano in Italia (attorno ai 13€ contro i $7 americani!) ho deciso di lasciar perdere.

Poi però mi sono imbattuta nei l'Oréal Rouge Caresse, ed è stato amore a prima vista!

Ho subito notato che la consistenza era più o meno come quella dei Revlon, molto cremosa e i colori sono meno intensi di un normale rossetto, inoltre le tonalità presenti si avvicinavano molto a quelle dei sosia della Revlon. Dunque ne ho comprati un paio: il n.06 Aphrodite Scarlet e il n.04 Rose Madmoiselle.

The first one I tried on was Aphrodite Scarlet, which is a beautiful fuchsia (I thought it was red looking at the stick, but I was wrong!). It applied like a dream...it gives to my lips a lovely touch of colour and it's very glossy too, so your lips won't dry. I love it!

Il primo che ho provato è stato Aphrodite Scarlet, che si presenta come un bellissimo fucsia sulle labbra, nonostante lo stick sia di un rosso sgargiante. L'applicazione è stata perfetta, e dona alle labbra un bel tocco di colore anche molto lucido. Lo adoro!

Next on is Rose Madmoiselle, which I would describe as a true pink colour. I was looking for something like that for ages, and now I've finally found it! I'm so happy :) Again, there's nothing wrong about this lipstick, I absolutely love everything about it. 

Il secondo, Rose Madmoiselle, lo definirei come il classico rosa per eccellenza. E' un colore fresco e vivace, una tinta che cercavo da molto tempo e ora sono finalmente felice di possederla :) Non c'è niente che non vada neanche in questo rossetto, è bellissimo.

In conclusion: If you're looking for something more decent and moisturizing than a true lipstick, then this is the product you're looking for. It comes in 11 beautiful shades, perfect for spring, and you can find these in drugstores or perfumeries for 9,90€ ca. 

Only downsides: after an hour or so they begin to dry a bit, and their duration isn't the best, so you'll need to re-paint your lips during the day.

Concludendo: se state cercando qualcosa di più discreto e idratante di un semplice rossetto, questo è il prodotto per voi. Si presenta in 11 bellissime tonalità, perfette per la primavera, e le potete trovare in profumeria e simili al prezzo di 9,90€ circa.

Le uniche pecche di questo prodotto sono il fatto che dopo più o meno un'ora cominci a seccarsi un po' e perda la sua lucentezza e che la durata non è tra le migliori, dovete sicuramente applicarlo più volte al giorno.

- Needs to be retouched during the day

- Dries a bit after one hour or so

- Can't be exposed to the sun and heat because it will melt

Hunger Games inspired manicure?

Good morning ladies! Today I woke up definetly too early (I think it was 6.19 a.m O.O), but I just can't sleep any longer :'( I don't know, I think it's because of University (I need to get up at 6 a.m twice a week), I got used to that schedule.

Anyway, in today's post I show you a manicure that was inspired by many of you....:) You know, in these days everyone is going crazy for the Hunger Games movie (and book, and polishes,...), and some other bloggers decided to post a Hunger Games-inspired manicure. What caught my eye was the huge amount of orange/red manis I saw! I must admit, I haven't read the books (I didn't know about the existence of this trilogy until some weeks ago, when I heard everyone talking about!) and the movie isn't out yet here in Italy, but I wanted to do a themed-manicure anyway, just because I loved yours soooo much :)

So, here it is! I used two coats of "Think Pink" by Essence and two coats of "Night in Vegas" (also by Essence) on top. I really hope it can be considered as a Hunger Games-inspired mani XD So let me know if yes!

Oh, btw, I ordered the first book on Amazon the other day, and I fell in love with the trailer <3 Can't wait to read it!

Buongiorno fanciulle! Stamani mi sono svegliata decisamente troppo presto (penso fossero le 6.19 quando ho aperto gli occhi >.<)...non riesco più a dormire la mattina, ma penso sia colpa degli orari dell'università ai quali mi sono abituata (due volte la settimana mi tocca la levataccia alle 6).

Dunque, oggi vi mostro una manicure che molte di voi mi hanno indirettamente ispirato...:) In questi giorni non sento parlare d'altro che di questo celeberrimo "Hunger Games", tra libri, film e smalti sembra aver conquistato il web! Girovagando per i blog, sono rimasta colpita dall'incredibile ammontare di manicure sui toni dell'arancio e del rosso, che a quanto pare meglio rappresentano questa trilogia. Così mi sono detta che anch'io volevo creare qualcosa che rimandasse alla storia, e ho scelto di usare "Think Pink" e "Night in Vegas" per la mia personalissima interpretazione :D

Tenete conto che non sapevo dell'esistenza di "Hunger Games" fino a qualche settimana fa, quando su Twitter e sui blog non si parlava d'altro, ma mi sono innamorata del trailer del film e l'altro giorno ho comprato il primo libro su Amazon, quindi presto spero di unirmi alle schiere delle appassionate :P

Some flakies, again!

Hello girls :) Hope you're all doing fine! I have just done my nails and I absolutely wanted to share it with you asap, because I'm loving it soooo much <3

The polishes I'm using here are Kiko n.385 and Deborah 3D tech top coat in n.102.

First of all, I want to say that the Kiko polish has a bit of a purple hint that didn't show up on camera, but these pictures are pretty realistic anyway.

I then put the flakies on top, and what I love most about it is how subtle they look on top of this blue shade *_* I have swatched them on a black polish too, and of course they're more visible (I'll do a full manicure like that for sure!), but I do really like how this mani turned out :)

Buondì ragazze, spero stiate tutte bene! Io ho appena cambiato lo smalto e dovevo assolutamente mostrarvelo perchè penso di essermene innamorata <3

Gli smalti che ho usato sono il Kiko n.385 e il nuovissimo Deborah 3D tech top coat n.102.

Prima di tutto, vi avviso, il colore che vedete dello smalto Kiko non combacia esattamente con l'originale, poichè dal vivo assume una leggera sfumatura di viola che ovviamente la mia macchina fotografica non ha voluto catturare.

Bé, dopo aver applicato la base, ho aggiunto uno strato di flakies, e la cosa che più adoro dell'effetto creatosi è il suo essere così delicato, tenue *_* Ho provato questi flakies anche su una base nera, e ovviamente l'effetto è molto più intenso e le variazioni di colore (dal blu, al viola, al verde) di vedono molto meglio, ma sinceramente non mi dispiace affatto anche su una base blu come questa :) Presto vedrete sicuramente anche una manicure su smalto nero però XD

Bene, questo è quanto, vi lascio alle foto, sperando che piacciano anche a voi tanto quanto piacciono a me ^O^

Winner + explanation

So, I closed my giveaway yesterday instead of on the 22nd of March, and that's because I have read an alarming article about how giveaways are considered as illegal here in Italy.
I think that's ridicolous, but I won't go against the law, and so I decided to anticipate the end of my giveaway. But I still wanted to pick a winner, because you girls don't deserve to be teased!
So, after counting every entry and all the additional ones, I used Random.org to choose one winner, and it turned out to be this lovely girl named Iva, who has a blog about makeup too (btw, go and check it out: bloodredbeauty).
I've already contacted her and she answered my email immediately :)
I'm really sorry for all this trouble, but most of all I'm incredibly angry with those people who are preventing us bloggers to send gifts to our readers, I really don't get what we could possibly do wrong by doing that! In fact, most of us buy all the stuff with our money, there's no lucrative reason, and all that just to thank you for following and supporting us. There are bigger problems to solve in our country before thinking about giveaways, don't you think? Anyway, that's how it is, I can't change this fact.
But don't worry, I won't stop giving presents to those of you who follow me on a regular base, I'll just find another way to do that!


Ho anticipato la chiusura del mio giveaway di quattro giorni e questo dopo aver letto un articolo allarmante riguardo al fatto che qui in Italia i giveaway sarebbero considerati illegali.
Dopo un attimo di sconcerto iniziale ho deciso di non voler rischiare (siccome le multe vanno dai 50,000 ai 500,000€!) e ho chiuso baracca e burattini. Ho comunque estratto la vincitrice siccome non sono qua per prendere in giro nessuno, l'ho già contattata e lei mi ha prontamente risposto.
Tornando alla questione "illegalità" penso che il termine più adatto ad esprimere il mio parere a riguardo sia "ridicolo". Come siamo giunti a questo punto? Sono questi i problemi che vanno affrontati al momento nel nostro Paese? Immagino quanto possa essere pericolosa una ragazza che sborsa di tasca sua i soldi per un premio atto a ringraziare le persone che supportano lei e il suo blog. E vogliamo parlare delle multe? Vi sembrano ragionevoli le cifre indicate? Non so voi, ma io neanche li ho mai visti tutti quei soldi in vita mia.
Resta il fatto che non ho nessuna intenzione di correre questo rischio, quindi non organizzerò più giveaway. Ma cercherò di trovare un modo alternativo per ringraziarvi di tanto in tanto, promesso!

Birthday haul + Birthday manicure

 So...yesterday was my 21st birthday! I had a great day, I did some shopping and in the evening I went out for a drink with a couple of girlfriends :) In this post I wanted to show you some stuff I got in the morning and also the mani I wore during the day.
So, here are the things I bought:
- Pupa n.724 from the Jeans n' Roses collection
- Deborah n.102 3D Tech Top Coat (more flakies!!!)
- Essence n.05 "Nude or what?" from the Season of Extremes TE
- Max Factor 610 "Angel Pink" lipstick
- L'Oréal "True Rose" blush
- L'Oréal day moisturizer for dry/sensible skin

Ebbene, ieri è stato il mio 21esimo compleanno! Ho passato una giornata stupenda; in mattinata sono andata  a svaligiare qualche profumeria e la sera sono uscita a bere qualcosina con delle amiche :)
In questo post volevo mostrarvi alcune delle cosette che ho comprato la mattina assieme alla manicure che ho scelto per il compleanno. Ecco i miei acquisti:

- Pupa n.724 from the Jeans n' Roses collection
- Deborah n.102 3D Tech Top Coat (altri flakies! Ci stiamo forse evolvendo?)
- Essence n.05 "Nude or what?" from the Season of Extremes TE
- Max Factor 610 "Angel Pink" lipstick

- L'Oréal day moisturizer for dry/sensible skin

And finally, here's the manicure I chose to wear for my birthday, and it's the Pupa polish I just showed you.
It's a lovely mint green polish which I think is the perfect spring colour!
Great shade, great formula and super shiny even without top coat. The only things I don't like about it are the small bottle (5ml for 5,50€!) and the brush, which isn't flat and it's too soft.
So, in these pictures you can see 2 coats of n.724 plus top coat, hope you like it!

Ed infine, ecco la mia manicure: ho scelto di mettere lo smalto della Pupa che vedete nelle foto precedenti, il n.724. Adoro il colore! Si tratta di un bellissimo verde menta pastello, perfetto per la primavera.
Il colore è stupendo, la consistenza pure e lo smalto risulta lucidissimo anche senza top coat. Le uniche cose che non mi piacciono di questi smalti sono A) le bottigliette piccole da 5ml e B) il pennello troppo morbido e tondo, che mi rende l'applicazione sempre difficoltosa.
Nelle foto seguenti vedete 2 strati del n.724 e uno di top coat. Spero vi piaccia!

"Razzle Dazzle" by Deborah Lippmann

I have no words for this polish, it's just pure perfection.

"Razzle Dazzle" by Deborah Lippmann is everything you want from a glitter polish: opaque base, depth, sparkling glitters, amazing shade and that lovely gritty surface that I'm loving so much right now <3

I love it, and I don't want to take it off!

I think I would spend $20 for it, and that's not a thing I would say for many other polishes...

And should we talk about the bottle?? How cute is that?! I wish all my polishes had the same bottle shape, it's so sophisticated and beautiful!

Anyway, I have already talked to much, just have a look at these pictures and you'll (maybe) understand what I mean....:)

P.S. Tomorrow is my 21st birthday and I'm already soooo excited! I won't do anything special, but it feels so good to have one day in the year just for yourself, I love birthdays :D

Non ci sono parole adatte a descrivere questo smalto, è semplicemente perfetto.

"Razzle Dazzle" di Deborah Lippmann è tutto ciò che potete desiderare da uno smalto glitter: ha una base coprente, ha profondità, i glitter sono belli sbriluccicosi, il colore è spettacolare e l'effetto leggermente ruvido che acquista una volta asciutto mi piace da matti <3

Fosse per me non lo toglierei più!

Penso questo sia uno dei pochi smalti per i quali spenderei il prezzo intero pur di portarmelo a casa (e parliamo di ben $20!).

E vogliamo soffermarci un attimo sulla boccetta? Quanto bella è?! Quanto vorrei che fossero tutte fatte così, è elegantissima e sofisticata!

Vabbè, mi sono già dilungata troppo, ora vi lascio alle foto così (forse) potrete capire cosa intendo :)

P.S. Domani è il mio ventunesimo compleanno e già sono emozionata all'idea! Non farò niente di particolare, ma resta comunque una giornata speciale, tutta mia...adoro il mio compleanno :D

Apothica.com order: Cocktail Bling

Some weeks ago I received an email from a lovely woman, Rachel, who was representing Apothica and SkinCareRx, saying that they were interested in sponsoring my blog.
Among other things she said, she told me that I had the opportunity to receive a gift card to spend on their sites. I said yes, of course, and I decided to use my gift card immediately. So I ordered two polishes (just two because the shipping to Italy was extremely high, $35!), a Deborah Lippmann one, "Razzle Dazzle" and this Essie polish, "Cocktail Bling".
I must say, I was very surprised when just nine days after my package was sent, I got home and there it was, laying on my desk. Well, that's probably because of the $35 for the shipping.
I was also very pleased when I opened the package and I found some samples that they sent me extra. I'm really really happy with my order, everything went smoothly and I love the products I received (also the Ahava sample, which was a day moisturizer for normal to dry skin: amazing!).

Qualche settimana fa mi ha contattata una signora molto cortese, rappresentante due negozi online americani piuttosto famosi, Apothica e SkinCareRx, dicendomi che erano interessati a sponsorizzare il mio blog.
Tra le altre cose, mi veniva offerta la possibilità di spendere una gift card su uno dei loro siti, potevo non accettare? Così ho scelto due smalti che già bramavo da tempo (solo due poiché le spese di spedizione erano alle stelle, ben $35!): "Razzle Dazzle" di Deborah Lippmann e "Cocktail Bling" di Essie.
Sono stata estremamente soddisfatta del loro servizio clienti: a parte il fatto che ogni volta che avevo qualche domanda mi rispondevano subito, il mio pacco ci ha messo solo nove giorni ad arrivare, e senza spiacevoli sorprese tipo dazi doganali e roba varia. Sarà forse merito dei $35?
Un'altra cosa che mi ha fatto davvero piacere è stato trovare alcuni campioncini gratuiti all'interno del pacco, uno shampoo e due creme (tra l'altro eccezionali!). Non è decisamente da tutti un'accortezza simile.
In conclusione devo dire che sono molto soddisfatta del mio ordine, tutto è andato liscio e adoro i prodotti che ho scelto (anche i campioncini!).

Anyway, moving on to the polish I'm showing you today, "Cocktail Bling": this is a lovely grey creme, which I decided to get after seeing it on different blogs, and thinking how pretty and elegant it looked. 

Well, it definetly looks pretty and elegant, but once I've put it on I tried to figure out why I thought it to be so unique. 

Everything about this polish is great: the formula, the pigmentation, the brush...but in fact it is nothing special, it's a grey creme polish.

But that doesn't mean that I don't like it, it's just that I overestimated the colour.

Anyway, I like how it looks on me, and I think this is a passepartout colour, good for anyone. What you see in pictures is two coats without any top coat (yes, it's also very shiny on its own!).

And what do you think about "Cocktail Bling"? Do you have it? Do you like/dislike it?

Passiamo ora allo smalto che voglio mostrarvi oggi, ossia "Cocktail Bling": si tratta uno smalto grigio chiaro, visto e rivisto in tantissimi blog diversi, che avevo ormai adocchiato da tempo. Mi sembrava molto bello ed elegante, così ho deciso di prenderlo.

Bè, sicuramente è un bel colore, ma una volta applicato sulle mie unghie mi sono domandata cosa ci trovassi di così speciale.

Non posso dire nulla di negativo a proposito di consistenza, coprenza, pennello, ma in fin dei conti (almeno dal mio punto di vista) non è nulla di particolare, è uno smalto grigio.

Con ciò non voglio dire che non mi piace, semplicemente l'ho sopravvalutato dalle immagini.

Comunque questa tonalità mi piace in contrasto con la mia pelle, trovo che sia uno di quei colori che vanno bene sempre e con tutto.

In queste foto potete vedere due strati di smalto senza top coat.

E voi cosa ne pensate di "Cocktail Bling"? 

My first flakies!

I'm a happy girl, and you know why? Because I finally own some flakies!!!
Yes, and that's because Layla decided to create some in collaboration with this italian beauty blog, Trendy Nail. The collection consist of five different glitters, but I just got the two flakies (this one and the red version).
Many girl said this one to be pretty close to the Nfu.oh n.51...they actually look similar, but I think that the Nfu.oh flakies still have something more. Anyway, I'm in love with this polish, and I keep staring at my nails every two seconds XD
I layered "The Butterfly Effect" over a purple base, which is n.293 from Kiko, just because I thought that it would look better than on its own.
So, here it is, my first true flakie polish! I have nothing more to add, I'll leave the pictures talking :)

Ebbene sì, poiché la Layla si è decisa a crearne in collaborazione con un beauty blog italiano, Trendy Nail.

La collezione in questione comprende cinque smalti glitter, di cui solo due sono flakies (questo che vedete nelle foto e una versione rossa).

Ho letto in giro che molte ragazze lo associano al n.51 della Nfu.oh...io non possiedo quest'ultimo, ma guardando alcune foto in giro per blog devo ammettere che sono piuttosto simile, ma credo comunque che quello americano abbia una marcia in più.

Sono follemente innamorata di questo smalto, e non riesco a smettere di fissarmi le unghie!

Per questa manicure ho prima steso due strati di uno smalto Kiko viola, il n.293 per poi sovrapporci uno strato di "The Butterfly Effect" (è così che si chiama lo smalto flakie).

Iron Mermaiden plus Hello Holo

Hello there! Here I am again, showing you my attempt to recreate Butter London's "Knackered". I knew I would lose the challenge from the beginning, but hey! The result is still a duochrome with holographic glitters on top and I like it :)

The base colour of this manicure is the beautiful "Iron Mermaiden" by Catrice, multichrome polish in the bottle but just duochrome on the nails (still pretty though!). I used three coats of it to reach opacity, but it didn't bother me, because I do really enjoy this colour on my nails. Then, on top, I added one coat of "Hello Holo" by Essence.

Well, it's definetly not like "Knackered", which has a more purple base, and the holographic glitters are a lot tinier, but I'm very satisfied with the end result. But I'll probably still get "Knackered" in the next future XD

Forget me not!

I can't believe I didn't buy this polish before. When I stood in front of the Catrice stand I got "Purplelized" instead of "Forget me not!", but I made a big mistake. In fact, I gave "Purplelized" to my cousin because I didn't like it that much, and now I finally bought this beauty.
This is what I call a true purple! In the bottle you can see that in this purple base there are a gazillion of teeny tiny silver glitters suspended, which, translated on the nail, give to this polish such an amazing sparkle touch.
I don't have nothing to complain about the formula neither: like almost all Catrice polishes, the application was incredibly smooth, and I guess this could be also a one-coater.
I love it, really. Thank you Catrice for creating such amazing colours and not expensive at all!

 

Genius in the bottle

Good morning! I have a very beautiful polish to show you today :) It's one of the new Catrice polishes, and it's called "Genius in the bottle". You can see, it's obviously another "dupe" of "Péridot" from Chanel. I'm really into this shade, and even if I already own the Sephora version, I couldn't resist when I saw this pretty on the shelf! 

I wish Catrice had created this polish before I got the Sephora one, because it's much more cheaper (2,79€ for 10ml, while "Diving in Malaysia" was 5,50€ for 5ml) and I actually kinda like more. I think the duochrome in this one is more evident, but apart from that I don't think there are many differences between these two polishes.

I even shot a couple of underwater-pictures, just to show you how amazing the colour shifting is (which sadly isn't that strong on my nails ç_ç).

On these pictures you can see 2 coats of "Genius in the bottle" plus top coat.
